Last time I shared how to relieve Lulu's headache by pressing her Fengchi and Taiyang acupoints. This time I want to talk about the pediatric massage techniques "Pushing the Heavenly River Water" and "Pushing the Three Passes" to help her relieve fever. The effect is quite good!
Basic concepts of massage
Let me first explain the word "push". In massage, it means to push gently in one direction , not to rub back and forth. Remember that!
Acupoint Location
- Tianhe Water : The straight line from the midpoint of the wrist to the midpoint of the elbow on the palm side, located in the middle of the forearm.
- The three points are located on the radial side of the palm (the edge of the thumb), from the wrist to the elbow crease.
massage methods
-
Massage direction : Use the pads of your index and middle fingers to gently push and rub from the wrist towards the elbow , avoiding back-and-forth rubbing.
-
Massage sessions
- Each set consists of 200-300 repetitions , and you can do 2-3 sets .
- Push with your left and right hands alternately to ensure even distribution.
Precautions:
-
The pressure should be gentle.
Babies have delicate skin, so remember to use gentle pressure when massaging them, and also apply baby lotion or moisturizing cream to reduce friction and irritation. -
The direction must be correct . You must keep pushing in one direction from the wrist to the elbow . Do not rub back and forth to avoid damaging the skin.
-
In addition to massage, you can also use a hot towel to wipe your body, take a warm shower, and drink plenty of water to help reduce fever and accelerate the soothing effect.
-
Seek medical attention immediately . If your baby has a persistent high fever (>40°C) or other serious symptoms, such as confusion, seizures, or difficulty breathing , go to the emergency room immediately!
After Lulu's Tianhe Water and Three Passes massage, her fever gradually subsided, and she felt much better. She even said, "Daddy, it feels so good to massage me!" ✨
I'll share more massage techniques next time. Remember! Gentleness and the right direction are key to effectiveness!
